A breakthrough in urodynamic measurement precision
In recent years urodynamics has been transformed into a sophisticated high-tech discipline. Reliable parameters for a sound diagnosis of complex functional processes are now derived from electronically controlled measurements based on manometric, myographic and x-ray data. Standardised examination techniques of the ICS also ensure that results can be compared.
The precision of measurement results nevertheless remains a problem. Natural changes of position by the patient generate pressure artefacts which falsify test results. This often necessitates a costly and time-consuming repeat examination, and the patient is also forced to endure the uncomfortable procedure for a longer time than necessary.
